My name is Ryan Brideau, and I am a composer, tenor, and teacher.

I hold a BM in Voice from the Juilliard School, where I studied under the late Sanford Sylvan and taught Ear Training I, II, and III under Dr. Kyle Blaha as a Teaching Fellow.

Since graduating, I have completed a Master Certificate in Orchestration for Film and Television through Berklee Online, and have been working on a number of student and indie projects. Recent work includes additional music and arranging for an in-development documentary, Permission to Exist, and a concert work, five love songs, settings of Pablo Neruda’s love sonnets for soprano and piano.

I live in Cartersville, GA, with my wife Anna and our Great Dane, Donut.

Long form, my dream is to compose music for both screen and concert. With every piece I write, my chief goal is for players and audience alike to respond with, “Wow, that was fun.”

I’ve joined Quintessence to create new opportunities to do just that, as well as to build my composition and production skills, and to collaborate and network.

Beyond music, I love all things Star Wars, movies, video games, science fiction and fantasy, politics, history, religion, cooking, and talking about big ideas.

And - very importantly - I am a John Williams obsessive. I hope to write a dissertation on him one day.
